Cookie Policy
This page describes cookies and similar storage used on gbcnews.tv, and how you control analytics.
Last updated 23 October 2026
Overview
We use essential cookies and local storage to run the site (for example sign-in sessions). Optional analytics cookies load only if Google Analytics 4 and/or Microsoft Clarity are configured for the deployment and you accept analytics in our consent banner.
We do not load Plausible, Meta Pixel, or other advertising pixels as part of the current site build.
Essential
- Authentication / session cookies set by Supabase Auth so you stay signed in.
- Short-lived auth return path cookie (gbc_auth_next) used during OAuth sign-in.
- Consent preference in localStorage (gbc-consent-v2) remembering Analytics and Personalization choices (legacy gbc-consent-v1 may still be migrated once).
Analytics (optional)
- Google Analytics 4 — measurement of page views, watch time and similar events. Runs under Consent Mode v2: analytics storage is denied until you accept; advertising storage and ad personalization remain denied.
- Microsoft Clarity — session analytics / replay. The Clarity script is not injected until you accept analytics cookies.
- Campaign source (localStorage key gbc-first-touch-v1, up to 30 days) — the campaign codes (utm_*) of the link that first brought you here and the page you landed on, so a launch-list sign-up or a GBC Studio reservation can be credited to that campaign. Written only while you allow analytics and deleted when you withdraw it; without consent the codes stay in the page’s memory for that visit only. Never your name or address.
Exact third-party cookie names may vary by vendor version. Category-level disclosure above is the default.
Personalization (optional)
If you allow Personalization, your browser keeps a short on-device reading history used only to reorder local suggestions. Turning Personalization off clears that history. It is never uploaded to GBC servers.
Your choices
When analytics is configured, a consent banner lets you set Analytics and Personalization. You can change your mind anytime via “Cookie choices” in the site footer, which re-opens the preferences panel. Declining Analytics means we do not grant analytics storage and do not load Clarity.
